OpenSystemImaging.com FAQ's
Q. I just scheduled your virtual colonoscopy and I was wondering if you can see the intestines, too?

A. We actually hear this question quite a bit. The colon seems to be an area to the body that many of us don't fully understand. The colon is a hose-like structure that's about 5 feet long. (This can vary anywhere from 5 to 8 feet in individuals). Actually, the "colon" or maybe you've heard it called the "bowel" and the "intestine" are just three different words for the very same structure. Congratulations on being pro-active in your health care! Colon cancer is curable when detected in early stages. Our virtual colonoscopy is so simple and provides a safer, more complete screening than the traditional exam. Thanks for writing and for scheduling your screening.

Q. Does your company have any kind of test that can tell me about my spleen? I was in an auto accident as a child and seem to remember something about its removal. Could you tell if it is there or not?

A. Yes. Open System Imaging can offer you our CT Body Scan which will determine whether or not you have a spleen. The CT Body Scan can see inside your spleen and find many disease processes such as melanoma cancer. It will also take a look at the other major organs of the chest, abdomen and pelvis as well. You will also hear about your risk for osteoporosis and heart disease in an exam that takes just a few short minutes of your time.
